Isaiah 54
Again, Isaiah relates the Lord as the husband, Israel or Judah as the married wife, and children as His righteous seed where Israel in the latter days -
"...shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited." (Old Testament | Isaiah 54:3)
And with the desolate cities being inhabited with righteous seed, Israel is to -
"Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes..." (Old Testament | Isaiah 54:2)
Were some may consider these words to be in regards to the millenium, I believe that Isaiah's description of the latter days in this chapter is in regards to current Zion, stakes of Zion, and families of Zion where the Lord promises -
"...behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.
12 And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones.
13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.
14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee." Old Testament | Isaiah 54:11 - 14)
Where -
"....whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake." (Old Testament | Isaiah 54:15)
And -
"No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper..." (Old Testament | Isaiah 54:17)
I believe that because in modern day, the Lord said -
"...that the gathering together upon the land of Zion, and upon her stakes, may be for a defense, and for a refuge from the storm, and from wrath when it shall be poured out without mixture upon the whole earth." (Doctrine and Covenants | Section 115:6)
