Matthew 14
I believe the Jews of Jesus's days were very familiar with many of the words of the prophets. Jesus seems to quote them periodically and the people seemed to understand the references. At one time Job said in reference to Jehovah -
"Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea." (Old Testament | Job 9:8)
Matthew seemed to have been present -
"...when the disciples saw him walking on the sea..." (New Testament | Matthew 14:26)
Not only was it a miracle but also a testimony, as foretold by Job, of the divinity of the Savior by which the disciples even more realized -
"...worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God." (New Testament | Matthew 14:33)
