Matthew 5
In His sermon on the Mount, the Savior said -
"Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." (New Testament | Matthew 5:19)
And then He followed with -
"For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven." (New Testament | Matthew 5:20)
It was the scribes and Pharisees that were consider those with the greatest understanding of the law of Moses and the commandments. Yet that even with their supposedly great wisdom and understanding, they did not practice what they preached. I believe what the Lord was saying that we should not only teach righteous and holy living, but also live according to the same principles.
