This weblog is my personal online scripture journal. I try to read the scriptures each morning as I exercise on my cross-trainer. It has a great impact on my life and my testimony of the Savior and his restored church. The journal is really for my own benefit but I have set it up as a web log in hopes to benefit anyone else that may be interested. Matthew 16

As Peter tried to suggest that the Savior would not have to suffer at Jerusalem, the Savior chastised him adding -

"...If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."  (Matthew 16:24)

The Prophet Joseph Smith added -

"And now for a man to take up his cross, is to deny himself of all ungodliness, and every worldly lust, and keep my commandments."  (JST - Matthew 16:26)

This thought provoking explanation to "take up his cross".
