Scripture Blog

This weblog is my personal online scripture journal. I try to read the scriptures each morning as I exercise on my cross-trainer. It has a great impact on my life and my testimony of the Savior and his restored church. The journal is really for my own benefit but I have set it up as a web log in hopes to benefit anyone else that may be interested. "For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost..." 1 Nephi 10:19

Revelation 20

In John's revelation, we learn the potential of man as we read -

"...Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. "  (New Testament | Revelation 1:5 - 6)

Also -

"...they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10  And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth."  (New Testament | Revelation 5:9 - 10)

Obviously, to become a king, one must have a kingdom, a throne, and must reign for -

"...I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years."  (New Testament | Revelation 20:4)

"Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."  (New Testament | Revelation 20:6)

But even though we are promised to be joint-heirs with Christ, this revelation made perfectly clear -

"...he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS."  (New Testament | Revelation 19:16)

I feel I should add that even Christ -

"...had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself."  (New Testament | Revelation 19:12)
