2 Nephi 12
Speaking of the atonement, Jacob taught that the Savior -
"...offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered." (Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 2:7)
Humility than and repentance is an essential requirement to receive salvation. That is why Isaiah chastises Israel and all generations for their pride and haughtiness saying -
"...the mean man boweth not down, and the great man humbleth himself not, therefore, forgive him not." (Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 12:9)
"...they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made." (Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 12:8)
But finally in the last days -
"For the day of the Lord of Hosts soon cometh upon all nations, yea, upon every one; yea, upon the proud and lofty, and upon every one who is lifted up, and he shall be brought low." (Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 12:12)
"...the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low; and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day." (Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 12:17)
Isaiah even suggests how the wicked, prideful, and haughty will actually be burned -
"O ye wicked ones, enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for the fear of the Lord and the glory of his majesty shall smite thee." (Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 12:10)
"And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for the fear of the Lord shall come upon them and the glory of his majesty shall smite them..." (Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 12:19)
And again -
"...go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for the fear of the Lord shall come upon them and the majesty of his glory shall smite them..." (Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 12:21)
Is there any question, that his glory will be that that will smite the wicked, prideful and haughty.
