Scripture Blog

This weblog is my personal online scripture journal. I try to read the scriptures each morning as I exercise on my cross-trainer. It has a great impact on my life and my testimony of the Savior and his restored church. The journal is really for my own benefit but I have set it up as a web log in hopes to benefit anyone else that may be interested. "For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost..." 1 Nephi 10:19

2 Thessalonians 3

Paul concludes his epistle to Thessalonia with -

"Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us." (New Testament | 2 Thessalonians 3:6)

One type of being disorderly is where someone is not self reliant or lazy as Paul explains -

"For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you..." (New Testament | 2 Thessalonians 3:7 - 8)

"For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat." (New Testament | 2 Thessalonians 3:10)

"For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies." (New Testament | 2 Thessalonians 3:11)

Of such, Paul provides priesthood leaders the following help and counsel -

"Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother." (New Testament | 2 Thessalonians 3:12 - 15)

The scriptures seem to have all the answers.
