Ephesians 3

The Lord

As the Lord taught Moses His plan for the salvation of all His children, He explains -

"...only an account of this earth, and the inhabitants thereof, give I unto you. For behold, there are many worlds that have passed away by the word of my power. And there are many that now stand, and innumerable are they unto man; but all things are numbered unto me, for they are mine and I know them." (Pearl of Great Price | Moses 1:35)

Paul teaches much the same doctrine that the Lord knows each of us by name -

"For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man..." (New Testament | Ephesians 3:14 - 16)

What a wonderful truth, that the "Father of our Lord Jesus Christ" knows our name and who we are. And not only that, that He loves us and wants to grant the "riches of his Glory" to each of His children. Is it any wonder that He has taught and instructed the same principles to the leaders of His Church that -


"...after they had been received unto baptism, and were wrought upon and cleansed by the power of the Holy Ghost, they were numbered among the people of the church of Christ; and their names were taken, that they might be remembered and nourished by the good word of God, to keep them in the right way, to keep them continually watchful unto prayer, relying alone upon the merits of Christ, who was the author and the finisher of their faith." (Book of Mormon | Moroni 6:4)

We are all numbered and named in God's eye.
