Scripture Blog

This weblog is my personal online scripture journal. I try to read the scriptures each morning as I exercise on my cross-trainer. It has a great impact on my life and my testimony of the Savior and his restored church. The journal is really for my own benefit but I have set it up as a web log in hopes to benefit anyone else that may be interested. James 5

Of priesthood blessings, James taught -

"Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord..."  (James 5:14)

Then adding -

"And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him."  (James 5:15)

It is the prayer of faith that I find to be essential.  It seems to me that James is considering more than physical sickness.  One could be raised to good health as well as spiritual health and salvation.  Obviously, being forgiven would include a prayer of faith unto repentance.
