Scripture Blog

This weblog is my personal online scripture journal. I try to read the scriptures each morning as I exercise on my cross-trainer. It has a great impact on my life and my testimony of the Savior and his restored church. The journal is really for my own benefit but I have set it up as a web log in hopes to benefit anyone else that may be interested. "For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost..." 1 Nephi 10:19

Helaman 5

As the Lamanites asked -

"...What shall we do, that this cloud of darkness may be removed from overshadowing us?"  (Book of Mormon | Helaman 5:40)

Aminadab answered -

"...You must repent, and cry unto the voice, even until ye shall have faith in Christ..."  (Book of Mormon | Helaman 5:41)

Then and only then -

"...the cloud of darkness shall be removed from overshadowing you."  (Book of Mormon | Helaman 5:41)

Upon true repentance -

"...they cast their eyes about, and saw that the cloud of darkness was dispersed from overshadowing them, behold, they saw that they were encircled about, yea every soul, by a pillar of fire.
44 And Nephi and Lehi were in the midst of them; yea, they were encircled about; yea, they were as if in the midst of a flaming fire, yet it did harm them not, neither did it take hold upon the walls of the prison; and they were filled with that joy which is unspeakable and full of glory.
45 And behold, the Holy Spirit of God did come down from heaven, and did enter into their hearts, and they were filled as if with fire, and they could speak forth marvelous words."  (Book of Mormon | Helaman 5:43 - 45)

No question, true repentance brings forgiveness and the Holy Ghost.
