3 Nephi 1

After the signs prophesied by Samuel, the Lamanite, had come to pass, we read that shortly thereafter many again began to dissent or apostatize -

"And there was also a cause of much sorrow among the Lamanites; for behold, they had many children who did grow up and began to wax strong in years, that they became for themselves..."  (Book of Mormon | 3 Nephi 1:29)

As I read that, I couldn't help but think of the rising generation of our day with all their social media where they to are beginning to "become for themselves".
