Scripture Blog

This weblog is my personal online scripture journal. I try to read the scriptures each morning as I exercise on my cross-trainer. It has a great impact on my life and my testimony of the Savior and his restored church. The journal is really for my own benefit but I have set it up as a web log in hopes to benefit anyone else that may be interested. "For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost..." 1 Nephi 10:19

1 Nephi 10

After Nephi recounts some of the teachings of his father, he states -

"...having heard all the words of my father, concerning the things which he saw in a vision, and also the things which he spake by the power of the Holy Ghost, which power he received by faith on the Son of God—and the Son of God was the Messiah who should come—I, Nephi, was desirous also that I might see, and hear, and know of these things, by the power of the Holy Ghost, which is the gift of God unto all those who diligently seek him..."  (Book of Mormon | 1 Nephi 10:17)

Nephi is testifying that to know the mysteries or light and truth by the Holy Ghost is a gift of God to all men, but they must diligently seek Him first.  Diligently search suggests to me that we will -

"...receive no witness until after the trial of your faith."  (Book of Mormon | Ether 12:6)

The Nephi testifies that this has always been the case and a condition of the plan of salvation for -

"...as well in times of old as in the time that he should manifest himself unto the children of men.
18 For he is the same yesterday, to-day, and forever; and the way is prepared for all men from the foundation of the world, if it so be that they repent and come unto him."  (Book of Mormon | 1 Nephi 10:17 - 18)

Summarizing -

"For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost, as well in these times as in times of old, and as well in times of old as in times to come; wherefore, the course of the Lord is one eternal round.
20 Therefore remember, O man, for all thy doings thou shalt be brought into judgment."  (Book of Mormon | 1 Nephi 10:19 - 20)

This is why I blog.
