D&C 124
As the Lord singled out specific instructions to several saints, He speaks to William Law, a new counselor in the First Presidency -
"Let my servant William Law also receive the keys by which he may ask and receive blessings; let him be humble before me, and be without guile, and he shall receive of my Spirit, even the Comforter, which shall manifest unto him the truth of all things, and shall give him, in the very hour, what he shall say." (Doctrine and Covenants | Section 124:97)
In my mind, the Lord is outline certain keys or doctrinal principles that allow one to receive guidance from the Holy Ghost and given the blessing of what to say in the time one is to say it. These keys or principles to these blessings are -
"...be humble before me..." (Doctrine and Covenants | Section 124:97)
And -
"...be without guile..." (Doctrine and Covenants | Section 124:97)
In my mind, guile would be defined as sly or cunning deceit, manipulaton, strategy, or trickery. The Lord has promised that if we are humble without any form of manipulation or deceit, the Holy Ghost -
"...shall manifest unto him the truth of all things, and shall give him, in the very hour, what he shall say." (Doctrine and Covenants | Section 124:97)
And also -
"...these signs shall follow him—he shall heal the sick, he shall cast out devils..." (Doctrine and Covenants | Section 124:98)
