Scripture Blog

This weblog is my personal online scripture journal. I try to read the scriptures each morning as I exercise on my cross-trainer. It has a great impact on my life and my testimony of the Savior and his restored church. The journal is really for my own benefit but I have set it up as a web log in hopes to benefit anyone else that may be interested. "For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost..." 1 Nephi 10:19

D&C 45

 I have often wondered how the global temporal economy would survive immediately after the Second Coming of the Savior.  I read this morning -

"Wherefore, hearken ye together and let me show unto you even my wisdom—the wisdom of him whom ye say is the God of Enoch, and his brethren,

12 Who were separated from the earth, and were received unto myself—a city reserved until a day of righteousness shall come—a day which was sought for by all holy men, and they found it not because of wickedness and abominations;

13 And confessed they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth;

14 But obtained a promise that they should find it and see it in their flesh."  (Doctrine and Covenants 45:11–14)

At the beginning of the Millenium, the City of Zion will return.  Brigham Young taught -

"By the way, when the City of Enoch was taken up, it included the buildings, ground, gardens, and domestic animals (see Discourses of Brigham Young, page 105.) The inhabitants of the City of Enoch were translated when taken up, and they were resurrected at the time of Christ’s resurrection (see D&C 133:54-55.)   (Ridges, David J.. Doctrine and Covenants Made Easier Volume 2 . Cedar Fort Inc.. Kindle Edition.)

Maybe the City of Enoch or Zion is reserved for that purpose.
