4 Nephi

 We read that after the Savior's visit to the Americas, that -

"...they had all things common among them; therefore there were not rich and poor, bond and free, but they were all made free, and partakers of the heavenly gift."  (4 Nephi 1:3)

In my mind, all things common does not suggest common ownership and any form of marxism.  It suggests to me that the if there was something common that all possessed, the people were so good that they would give of themselves that all would have.  I specifically not that the footnote suggests the law of consecration.
