Scripture Blog

This weblog is my personal online scripture journal. I try to read the scriptures each morning as I exercise on my cross-trainer. It has a great impact on my life and my testimony of the Savior and his restored church. The journal is really for my own benefit but I have set it up as a web log in hopes to benefit anyone else that may be interested. 1 Kings 19

 The Lord commanded Elijah - 

"...Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room."  (1 Kings 19:16)

And so - 

"...he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him."  (1 Kings 19:19)

It reminds me - 

"We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof."  (Articles of Faith 1:5)
