Scripture Blog

This weblog is my personal online scripture journal. I try to read the scriptures each morning as I exercise on my cross-trainer. It has a great impact on my life and my testimony of the Savior and his restored church. The journal is really for my own benefit but I have set it up as a web log in hopes to benefit anyone else that may be interested. "For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost..." 1 Nephi 10:19

Genesis 22

We see great similarities between the story of Abraham and Isaac and the Father and the Son.  When it is written that Isaac was just a lad, Enoch said he was just a lad at sixty.  Isaac could have easily been in his thirties.  That being the case, we read that -

"...they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood."  (Genesis 22:9)

Obviously, Isaac being in his thirties and Abraham over on hundred years of age, Isaac must have also been an obedient individual. So not only the promised blessing were given to Abraham, they were also extended to Isaac.
