Scripture Blog

This weblog is my personal online scripture journal. I try to read the scriptures each morning as I exercise on my cross-trainer. It has a great impact on my life and my testimony of the Savior and his restored church. The journal is really for my own benefit but I have set it up as a web log in hopes to benefit anyone else that may be interested. "For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost..." 1 Nephi 10:19

Luke 19

To be honest, when I was young, I couldn't figure out why, in the parable of the pounds, that when the Lord learned that a servant was scared and hid his Lord-given pounds in a napkin so he wouldn't lose it.  But when the Lord said -

"...unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.
25 (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)
26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him."  (Luke 19:24–26)

It now makes sense.  The Lord expects us to use the gifts we have given to move His kingdom forward.
