A couple of things impressed me as I studied the 58th Section of the Doctrine and Covenants -
"For verily I say unto you, blessed is he that keepeth my commandments, whether in life or in death; and he that is faithful in tribulation, the reward of the same is greater in the kingdom of heaven." (Doctrine and Covenants 58:2)
Two thoughts...that many will have the opportunity to keep the commandments in death. And those with faithfulness in tribulation will receive greater blessings.
Another thought concerning laws of agency -
"For the power is in them, wherein they are agents unto themselves. And inasmuch as men do good they shall in nowise lose their reward.
29 But he that doeth not anything until he is commanded, and receiveth a commandment with doubtful heart, and keepeth it with slothfulness, the same is damned.
30 Who am I that made man, saith the Lord, that will hold him guiltless that obeys not my commandments?" (Doctrine and Covenants 58:28–30)
The Lord obeys this law.of agency.
