Scripture Blog

This weblog is my personal online scripture journal. I try to read the scriptures each morning as I exercise on my cross-trainer. It has a great impact on my life and my testimony of the Savior and his restored church. The journal is really for my own benefit but I have set it up as a web log in hopes to benefit anyone else that may be interested. "For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost..." 1 Nephi 10:19

D&C 27

My understanding is that "Elias" means "messenger from God".  The scriptures mentioned several individuals as Elias.  In my mind, Elias then is plural or could mean a group off messengers.  We read that the Savior -

"...was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him."  (Matthew 17:2–3)

I've wondered if the appearance of "Elias", there was more than one messenger participating there.  The prophecy that when the Savior comes and participate  where -

"for the hour cometh that I will drink of the fruit of the vine with you on the earth"  (Doctrine and Covenants 27:5)

He will do with several named individuals and with Elias.  To me this could mean many individuals that have served as messengers.
