Ephesians 1

Paul taught the righteous Ephesians -

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will..."  (Ephesians 1:3–5)

These words teach that there was a pre-mortal existence being taught and experiencing the atonement of Jesus Christ.  It also teaches that we were foreordained (not destined) to be blessed with certain talents and callings.  I'm sure it was all based on faithfulness and obedience.  This is what a patriarchal blessing is expresses.

Who knows that there may have been ordinances and covenants.
